I have started on this topic of Morning S.A.V.E.R.S. first with an overview here, and then gave some examples on how I practice the first 3 items with the Part 2 blog post here. To wrap up this topic, I shall continue to present on how I practice the remaining 3 in this post post.
As usual, let’s recap on what the remaining 3 abbreviations represent:
- E – Exercise
- R – Read
- S – Scribe
Exercise – In the context of Morning S.A.V.E.R.S., exercise does not necessarily mean you need to do any heavy cardio exercise. Remember, the time is somewhat limited as we need to go through all 6 routines, so based on my own opinion, what you can do during the exercise phase is to do some stretching routines, like circling your head, rotating both of your shoulders, twist your waist left and right, and last but not least stretch your leg muscles. You may not break a sweat, but giving some time to stretch your entire body can go a long way and help your body be prepared for the day’s work.
Read – It is pretty self explanatory on what you do during this phase. Obviously, this is the quiet time when you can use it to catch up on your reading. As much as I would like to recommend you reading more real estate or self-help book here, I actually want to suggest you take this period of time to read on topics that are not directly tied to money-making. Something that stimulate a different part of your brain; for example, a book on improving your relationship with your significant other, or a book on parenting, maybe a book on religion or to learn a new hobby. I think you get my point, something that helps you relax.
Scribe – As Hal mentioned many times, scribe is a fancy word of writing. I usually use this time to write about my plan for the day, and what I am grateful for. It does not need to be as long as an essay, just long enough to put your thoughts onto paper or laptop. Some say, “only things get written down get done.” So do not under-estimate the power of writing something down. It can work magic for you!
This blog post concludes our 3-part series of Morning S.A.V.E.R.S. If you find these 3 posts useful, I certainly encourage you to pick up the book at Amazon and read about all the details.
